I like reading from the devirahasyam tantra bala patala

One should place "Shakti" (Sauh) at the end of 'Vagbhava" (Aim) and "Kamaraja" (Klim), ending this with Namah. O Devi, this is the eight lettered Mantra of Bala...
Dakshinamurti is the Seer, Pankti is the Metre for pronunciation, the Goddess if Tripura-Bala, "Aim" is the Seed, "Sauh" the Shakti. "Klim" is the linchpin. Its application is towards Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha.

ऐं क्लीं सौः बालायै नमः

I meditate on Bala, clothed in red, with a digit of the Moon as Her ornament, effulgent as the rising sun, with three eyes, holding a book and a rosary, showing the gestures of removing fear and giving, seated on a red lotus.

As haṭhatattvakaumudī (Moon light on the Hatha Yoga) puts it : if you don't know Khecari Mantra from Guru then meditate on the Goddess Bala Tripura.

अथवा त्रिपुरं बालां योगोसिद्ध्यये॥ १८ .१६॥

or rather one should take resort to tripura bālā to attain success in yoga. 18.16
